Can you believe it’s been over a year since so many of us started working remotely? I know I can’t. And despite all that time, many of us still have the same WFH setup we started with. Remote working isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so I’m sharing my top tips (and even some design inspo!) to help you revamp your home office setup.

  1. Streamline. Streamline. Streamline. I’m all for tech setups that can get rid of clutter. You can use tablets or laptops to make to-do lists and take notes so you can free up some space on your desk. Check out my look below for inspiration! I used a minimalist setup with high contrast colors to make the perfect modern space.

  1. Fill your space with things that uplift you. A home office needs to allow for productivity, but it also needs to motivate you. Whether it’s a scrolling photo frame, plants or even a fun game, you have to find things that keep you going. I like to print out family photos and artwork to keep me inspired – and you can too! Just send your favorite prints to your local Staples store and their Print and Marketing Services team will have you covered.

  1. Add pops of color. If you’re a creative spirit, you need a space that matches who you are. To help inspire the creators out there, I designed a WFH setup that’s all about having space to express yourself. Colorful items like a productivity cube can add some flare while keeping you on track. Incorporating bursts of personality throughout your space can help get those creative juices flowing.

  1. Think about more than the visual. You not only have to address how your home office looks, but also how it sounds and smells. Think about ways to excite the senses! Essential oils can spark a creative and vibrant energy. Noise-cancelling headphones or a Bluetooth speaker can help add in some fun music to your workday.

  1. Create balance in your space. It’s important to feel centered and at peace in your home office – after all, you will be spending a lot of time there. For my wellness warriors, your space should be all about balance. By incorporating a yoga mat and standing desk, you can create a space that helps you to reset during a busy workday. You can also use earthy tones and recyclable materials to create an environmentally-friendly space.
